The anticipation surrounding the next big smartphone release is huge and there are many upcoming devices that are sure to thrill. Continue below as we look the devices, we believe are going to hit the headlines upon release soon.
Google Pixel 9
The Pixel 8 Pro is one of the world’s leading smartphones at the time of writing and that is why there is massive excitement ahead of the release of the Google Pixel 9. The Pixel 9 is set to be unveiled in August 2024 and, in addition to a Pixel 9 Pro, we expect to see a Pixel 9 Pro XL. The Pro XL is a name Google have used in the past and it is set to return for the Pixel 9, meaning we could see a new, bigger screen. That would be ideal if you enjoy playing games on your smartphone and there are sure to be further enhancements, including a new Tensor G4 chipset. The chipset will pave the way for faster AI processing than the Pixel 8 but with such a good camera already in place on the Pixel 8, we do not expect to see much of an upgrade with the Google Pixel 9s’ camera.
Asus TUF Gaming A14 Laptop
For anyone who is looking for a top gaming laptop without the eyewatering price, the Asus TUF Gaming A14 laptop could be the laptop for you. There are some small cutbacks on this device when compared to the premium version of the laptop, but they have been done in a way that makes the Asus TUF Gaming A14 an incredible bargain. Complete with AMD’s new Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and an RTX 4060 GPU, the combination means up to 314 trillion operations per second of AI performance. With a lot of power inside the laptop, keeping the device cool is vital and the vents, dual 0.1mm thin fans, and redesigned keyboard all help to increase airflow. The cuts have been made on the screen, which means a QHD+ IPS panel with 165Hz refresh rate and the build quality, which sees a metal and plastic mix. However, the Asus TUF Gaming A14 still looks beautiful when playing games, creating designs, or watching movies, is lightweight, and feels good in hand.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
With so many companies making foldable phones, Samsung are expected to make every effort to impress on their latest foldable device, the Galaxy Z Fold 6. We are not expecting any major changes in the design of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 from the previous editions as there is not much room for improvement in that department. However, the substantial changes could come in the display, with a wider screen than the Z Fold 5. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is likely to be included and this will match the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is proving to be a big hit. There are unlikely to be any significant upgrades to the camera, but image processing could improve when compared to the Z Fold 5.
Zotac Zone
PC Gaming handheld devices is a competitive market and one of the best tech gadgets still to come in 2024 is the Zotac Zone. There is no set release date for the Zotac Zone handheld gaming device, but we could see something around September 2024. This device has the lot, including 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 7-inch FHD AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor, Radeon 780M graphics, and 512GB of storage. If you like adding peripherals to your gaming device, you are in luck with the Zotac Zone thanks to the two USB-A ports plus room to add a M.2 SSD for extra storage and games. There are many big names in the handheld gaming market, but Zotac Zone could be about to shake things up.
Apple iPhone 16
The Apple iPhone 15 series of phones did not see a major leap from the 14 series, so we could see some significant changes for the Apple iPhone 16 series. The iPhone release is always one of the biggest smartphone releases of the year and we expect to see the iPhone 16 at the beginning of September 2024. Rumours are the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are going to benefit from bigger screens and will be powered by the A18 processor. That’s good news for gamers and anyone who wants to play online games, such as the entertaining slots at Razed crypto casino. The display brightness is expected to hit a peak of 1,200 nits and that is a significant increase on the 1,000 nits of the iPhone 15 series, making games more appealing.
Some of the other big upcoming smartphone releases to be excited for include Google Pixel Fold 2, OnePlus 13, OnePlus Open 2, and the Oppo Find X8.
Nvidia Project G-Assist
Have you been playing a video game on your PC only to be left wondering what to do next? This is not a ‘gadget’ in the true sense of the word but is such a cool piece of upcoming tech, we could not exclude it. Some of the top PC games are complex and have big, open worlds, meaning it is not always easy to know what you should be doing. The only option was to search online for tutorials but that could be about to change thanks to Nvidia Project G-Assist. This is one of the biggest pieces of technology still to come in 2024 and allows you to ask a question about the game as you play it. Nvidia Project G-Assist is an AI powered gaming assistant that can provide context-aware answers to game related questions. Possible questions include where to find items, how to beat level bosses, or whether an interaction with a character should be avoided. There is no specific release date for Nvidia Project G-Assist but having featured at Computex 2024, it should be later this year.
